In 2025, by the grace of God, CBI will celebrate it’s 20th anniversary. As we prepare to celebrate, we have prayerfully asked: who is CBI and what is God calling us to do? Two words come to mind that capture what we believe God has allowed us to do most fruitfully across twenty years, and where we want to focus even more with your help in the coming decade: deeper and further. By God’s grace, CBI has been able to take the gospel deeper and further throughout Japan.
Deeper ー By living out the gospel together, and providing resources to train leaders and lay Christians to do the same (CBI Core Value – fukuin no seikatsu, a “gospel way of life”).
Further ー By equipping and supporting leaders who go to the places in Japan where the gospel is less present both geographically and across sectors.
As we hear of the struggles of gospel ministry, CBI is committed to taking the gospel deeper and further still so that the gospel of the glory of Christ might be cherished and proclaimed throughout Japan.
It is clear that CBI cannot take the gospel deeper and further alone; rather we hope to support the ministry efforts of Christians living and serving across Chubu, and throughout Japan.
To recognize this and in celebration of CBI’s twentieth anniversary, CBI will host the conference “Deeper and Further” conference in November 2025 in Nagoya, that we may praise God and remember our calling to live the “gospel way of life” together. It will feature several speakers including our founder, Michael Oh. We hope you all can be there!
