CBI Media: Developing Translation Capability
AI has enormous potential for aiding in the translation of key gospel resources. Around the world, AI is already being used in many sorts of translation work. But the current translation models need further development to make them useful for translating theological materials and ministry resources into Japanese. Meanwhile, translators need to be trained in how to use AI-based tools to produce faster and more faithful translations.
Several ministries have already begun honing methods for using AI in translation work. With some up-front investment, CBI can begin adapting these methods for our ministry needs, greatly increasing the productivity of our media ministry. To this end, the translation development project aims to devise a whole new approach to translation for CBI Media articles, by simultaneously training AI models to produce better-quality translations and cultivating translators who are prepared to use these tools effectively.
The cost for this project includes the translation of several hundred articles and an AI subscription fee.
The total cost for this project is $52,931.
