Strengthening Families

A local pastor was a little surprised when he received permission to read Halle Takes a Stand (the first children’s book published by CBI Press) for his daughter’s public elementary school reading time. But he was even more surprised when he witnessed the emotional response from teachers and parents along with the children as he read the story of Christian parents lovingly helping their child think about bullying. Afterwards the teacher asked him to read it again for a larger assembly of kids at the school because she was so touched. These children’s books sow gospel seeds in the hearts of children and help water gospel seeds in the hearts of their parents.

CBI Press/CBI Counseling: Strengthening Families with the Gospel

One of the besetting challenges the Japanese church has faced in modern history is the difficulty of passing the gospel to the next generation. Earnest Christian parents often feel overwhelmed by the pressures of the culture and underequipped for the glorious burden of raising kids to bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord. CBI Press wants to help! We plan to translate and publish Parenting by Paul Tripp along with three gospel-focused children’s books. This suite of counseling-discipleship focused resources strengthens our current offerings by offering support and encouragement for parents and quality books to help point their kids to Jesus.

The total cost for this project is $92,010, and by God’s grace we have a 1:1 matching grant!
