“Can I borrow this commentary for preparing a sermon?” We have often received requests like these from local pastors desiring to utilize the wonderful resources in the Christ Bible Seminary library, but sadly due to a lack of a cataloging system, the answer has normally been, “no.” With the new cataloging system in place, we will be able to freely support pastors and ministry leaders by letting them borrow from the library while continuing to support our current students.
Christ Bible Seminary: Enhancing the Library
The new renovation has made the library an even more impactful support for both seminary students and local pastors. A critical element within any institution of higher education is the library. Students learn not simply from classroom instruction but also from reading a wide range of books and articles. The CBS library holds approximately 12,000 volumes, and yet in our 20 years of existence we’ve never had a full-scale library software system that tracks books that are checked out or maintains call numbers.
In order to bring our library up to industry standards, CBS needs a reliable library software system and a budget for its implementation. This project also includes support for a part-time library staff and a few infrastructure improvements that were not part of the original renovation project.
The cost for the Library Enhancement Project is $30,000.
