Topics in Christian Counseling: Strategies for Change

Topics in Christian Counseling: Strategies for Change addresses a number of situations and challenges that counselors are likely to face. The course examines these through the lens of Scripture and in the light of the resources God provides through his word, his Spirit, and his people. Topics may include anxiety, depression, death from overwork (karōshi), singleness, fear, shame, anger, loneliness, sexual sin, addiction, physical or sexual abuse, self-isolation (hikikomori), unwanted pregnancy, bullying (ijime), and suicide.

While Foundations of Christian Counseling (CM 331A/531A) and Methods of Biblical Change (CM 331B/531B) are helpful preparations, they are not prerequisites.

This is a bilingual course in English and Japanese.

• Location：Christ Bible Seminary (Map & Directions)
• Schedule：Monday-Friday, November 17–21; 9:20AM-3:40PM (1 hour break for lunch)

This class will not be offered online.

• Auditors: 10,500￥
• Non-program students: 21,000￥

REGISTRATION CATEGORIES

Note: Full and part time students of CBS should register for this class according to the usual seminary class registration process.

Non-program students and Auditors should register through the application form linked below.

• Auditors can come and participate in the class and will not take tests or do homework, but they are required to attend at least 80% of the course.
• Non-program students will receive seminary credit for the course. This option is especially suitable for those who wish to enroll in seminary in the future. They are required to complete the homework and take any tests. They may also be subject to additional registration procedures. Non-program students are also encouraged to register as early as possible.
