CBS in Cambodia—and Here at Home
October has been a busy month for Christ Bible Seminary. Early in the month, CBS academic assistant and interpreter Paul Kang led a team of five students on a short-term mission trip to Cambodia. We arrange this mission trip every two years so that students can fulfill their mission internship requirement. While in Cambodia, our students assisted local MTW missionaries with children’s ministry and outreach ministry and spent time in fellowship with local pastors. For several students this was their first cross-cultural ministry experience, and the trip opened their eyes both to the diversity of the body of Christ and to the depth of gospel need in another part of the world.
The beginning of October also saw us return to holding classes in the CBI building. Because of the building renovation, all CBS classes had been held off-site at a local church from June through September, and although our brand-new classroom on CBI’s second floor is not yet ready, we’ve been able to set up a temporary classroom on the first floor. We are grateful to be one step closer to using our newly renovated space!
Finally, on Saturday, October 11, we hosted our annual Open Campus event. Open Campus is designed to allow those who are considering seminary to come and get a first-hand glimpse of what studying at CBS is like. This year 10 prospective students came to learn about CBS’s vision and mission, our academic programs, and our distinctives. Prospective students were also able to hear an example lecture and enjoy lunchtime fellowship with faculty, staff, and current students.
Please pray for the CBS students as they persevere through our building renovation (with limited library access). Please also pray for the prospective students who attended Open Campus, that the Lord would make their future path and calling clear. |
