It’s hard to believe that the Deeper & Further conference is behind us! Your prayers have continued to support us through the last few days of preparation and the conference itself. By God’s grace, the conference succeeded beyond our expectations. Here are a few specific reasons for praise: -
The day before the conference, we still had a lot of work to do and had to deal with several challenges that arose! But everything came together, and we received many compliments on the same things that had caused stress the day before.
- The setup went exceptionally smoothly thanks to many volunteers, particularly CBS students and visiting teams from CBI’s partner churches.
Out of more than 500 registrants, only about 20 people didn’t make it to the conference. -
Many of the families who attended the conference expressed gratitude for the children’s programming and child-friendly spaces that allowed parents to participate in the conference fully.
- All the invited speakers agreed to speak and arrived safely! What’s more, they were vulnerable and spoke from their hearts in a powerful way.
We’re still processing the takeaways from the conference, but here are a few stories that give us a glimpse into how God is working: - One woman told a member of the staff that she has been looking forward to the conference since last December. She said that the messages at the conference spoke to her about things she has known for a while and needed to think about.
-
Another woman stopped by the registration desk partway through the conference to say she had already taken so many notes that she had completely filled her notebook. Turns out she had come all the way from the Philippines to attend the conference!
- A CBI staff member noticed some of the non-Christian venue staff reading booklets from the various information booths at the conference. One of them even picked up a copy of myうちそと, CBI Press’s new evangelism resource!
-
Several people asked whether recordings of the sessions will be available, because they want to re-watch them. (We do plan to make all the recordings available for free eventually.)
