Sowing Gospel Seeds

A local pastor was a little surprised when he received permission to read the Japanese translation of Halle Takes a Stand—the first children’s book published by CBI Press—for his daughter’s public elementary school reading time. But he was even more surprised by the emotional response of the teachers and parents, not to mention the children, who were deeply touched as he read the story of Christian parents lovingly helping their child think about bullying. The teacher was so moved that she asked the pastor to read it again for a larger assembly of kids at the school.

Children’s books such as Halle Takes a Stand sow gospel seeds in the hearts of children, and they help water gospel seeds in the hearts of their parents.

Strengthening Families with the Gospel

One of the biggest challenges the Japanese church faces is something that many other believers around the world can relate to: the difficulty of passing the gospel to the next generation. Earnest Christian parents often feel overwhelmed by the pressures of the culture and underequipped for the glorious burden of bringing up their children in the discipline and instruction of the Lord. CBI Press wants to help!

In cooperation with CBI Counseling, CBI Press plans to translate and publish Parenting by Paul Tripp, along with three gospel-focused children’s books. This suite of counseling- and discipleship-focused resources will strengthen our current offerings by providing support and encouragement for parents and quality books to help point their kids to Jesus.

The cost for this project is $92,010. By God’s grace we have already received a 1:1 matching grant, which means that all donations to this project will be doubled! Please consider partnering with us in this important work.
