Did you know that Japan is nearly 2,000 miles long from north to south, longer than any vertical stretch in the contiguous United States? Though Japan has a much smaller land area than the US, it stretches across a very long distance! The 58 Alumni of Christ Bible Seminary (CBS) are spread out all across Japan from North to South, East to West. Earlier this month, we had the privilege of welcoming back our Alumni for a special banquet, the first of its kind in CBS history. We asked the Alumni how the time was for them and what was the biggest takeaway the Lord gave them through this event. Here are some of their responses:
“Being with everyone all together was like a dream. The Lord reminded me that though I might experience hard seasons with little encouragement, God always sees me and never lets go.” - A., Counselor and Pastors Wife
“I was so encouraged to hear how the Lord has and is using CBS to multiply his work through us alumni all across Japan” - M., Church Planter
“This event reminded me how vital it is to rest in the love and care of God. I was so encouraged by the opportunity to reconnect with the CBI family. Thank you for loving us Alumni so generously” - Y., Evangelism through Japanese Art
“I was so glad to reconnect with friends and professors, and the message really spoke to my heart too. Thank you so much for hosting this event. Your love and care for us was evident in every detail!” - A., Church Planter
“CBI Press is putting out so many wonderful resources. I look forward for even more to come” - Y., College Ministry
“God reminded me that all of us alumni are in the midst of fighting many battles. We need to be fervent in prayer and supporting one another” - D., Pastor
Friends of CBI, thank you so much for your prayer and support to help us equip Christians in Japan for the work of Gospel ministry through efforts such as this Alumni banquet–particularly those of you who gave towards this effort as a part of our 2022 Year-End Giving Campaign. Not only did God work through this to encourage the attendees, CBI was also able to receive valuable insight as to how we can further support overworked Pastors and under-equipped Christians in the Japanese Church.
