A New Social Media Initiative for the Gospel |
Matthew 14 describes the miraculous time that Jesus and the disciples fed a crowd of 5000 plus people, with five loaves of bread and two fish. Imagine how differently Jesus, the disciples, and the people in the crowd experienced this moment. The people had been touched by Christ—illnesses healed, and hearts warmed by his compassion—and remained by him hungering for more. The disciples recognized the people's hunger, yet were at a loss as to how to utilize the few resources they had to meet the great need in front of them. Jesus on the other hand, knew not only the need, but exactly how God was going to provide for it too.
Japanese Christians are hungry to see and savor Jesus. Yet like the crowd in Matthew 14, it is difficult to imagine just what that looks like. Christians in Japan who are laboring to lead, teach, and equip are trying to steward the resources they have. Yet like the disciples, it is often hard to conceive how such small offerings could possibly provide for such great a need. The overwhelming need for the gospel makes us feel like the disciples saying, “We have only five loaves here and two fish”. Jesus not only knows the great need in Japan, but he knows exactly how to provide for what his people need.
CBI seeks to be a conduit for Jesus equipping the saints in Japan. We are working diligently to produce and distribute high quality gospel resources for the Japanese church. And CBI believes developing a strong and encouraging social media presence is a key way for us to deliver these valuable resources to the church. Please join us in praying for our growing efforts in this area and keep an eye out for our upcoming year-end giving opportunities so that you can join us in this good work!
