Counseling Support

At this time CBI Counseling does not provide 1-1 counseling.

Training

CBI Counseling offers a four-course comprehensive introductory training program for those desiring to learn how to counsel. It is currently taught in conjunction with Christ Bible Seminary which allows participants to gain seminary credit for the training if they so desire. Courses are open to pastors and lay Christians and are designed to help people know better how to counsel in the context of a local church. We also offer a number of electives on various topics related to Christian counseling.

Resources

CBI Counseling is actively involved in creation, collating, and translating Christian counseling resources in Japanese to be used by Japanese Christians and their churches. Our aim is to make these resources widely available.

Articles

CBI has translated a number of Christian counseling related articles which may be found on the CBI Media website. New articles are being added regularly.

Counseling Discipleship Program

(available on a limited basis)

The goal of STEPS is to bring glory to God through gospel-centered change, discipleship training, fellowship, and service. Participants receive one-on-one mentoring, guided daily devotions, an assessment to help examine their hearts, and participate in 13 seminars and small prayer groups.

STEPS is designed for pastors and lay leaders of churches who wish to bring the richness of the gospel, the blessings of mentoring, the practice of small groups, and the concept of “gospel-centered discipleship” to their own churches. Non-pastors and lay leaders are of course welcome to attend.

The STEPS program at CBI is only offered in Japanese.

*Through CBI Media, CBI partners with CBI Press, to promote their books.
