Academic Programs

CBS offers five academic programs, each of which is unique and designed to provide high-quality theological education that fits your future ministry objectives.

Master of Divinity (MDiv)

The Master of Divinity is the core program at CBS and is designed to equip full-time gospel ministers. The program offers a well-rounded curriculum with a focus on Bible, theology, church history, and practical theology. No matter what type of ministry you intend to pursue, the MDiv provides holistic preparation that will equip you for a life of gospel service. Normally, full-time students can complete this program in three years.

Master of Divinity in Church Planting and Revitalization (MDiv CP & R)

The Master of Divinity in Church Planting and Revitalization program offers a well-rounded curriculum with a focus on Bible, theology, church history, and practical theology with an emphasis in church planting and revitalization for those interested in starting new churches or revitalizing existing ones. Normally, full-time students can complete this program in three years.

Master of Arts in General Christian Studies (MA) *

The Master of Arts in General Christian Studies is designed for those who wish to pursue theological education in a shorter period of time. The program shares many aspects with the MDiv, though study of the biblical languages is optional and a greater number of elective courses are available. Normally, full-time students can complete this program in two years.

*For those without a bachelor's degree who wish to pursue two years of study, we offer an Associate of Arts program. The curriculum is the same as the Master of Arts in General Christian Studies, but with reduced assignments and lower evaluation criteria.

Bachelor of Theology (BTh)

The Bachelor of Theology program is designed for students who have a high school diploma and have not earned a bachelor’s degree. The curriculum is the same as the MDiv, with the addition of three elective credit hours. The assessment method is different from the MDiv, with reduced assignments and lower evaluation criteria. Normally, full-time students can complete this program in three years.

Certificate in General Christian Studies (Certificate)

The Certificate in General Christian Studies is designed for laypeople who wish to grow in their knowledge of the Bible and theology. This program provides theological study and preparation for practical ministry for those who are not seeking full-time ministry but wish to deepen their understanding of God and His Word. Normally, full-time students can complete this program in one year.
